Awareness Month

June 2026

Awareness days and months highlight different health conditions and wellbeing topics throughout the year. They help raise understanding and share useful, trusted information.

These campaigns are a helpful way to stay informed and take small steps to look after your health.

We’ll be sharing key awareness dates and information throughout the year to support you and your family. If you have any concerns, please contact the practice.

Mens Health Awareness

June is Men’s Health Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness of the health issues affecting men and encouraging positive steps towards better physical and mental wellbeing.

Research consistently shows that men are less likely than women to access healthcare services, attend routine health checks, or seek help when symptoms first develop. Early diagnosis and intervention can significantly improve outcomes for many health conditions.

Diabetes Awareness Month

June is Diabetes Awareness Month, an opportunity to increase understanding of diabetes, promote healthy lifestyle choices, and encourage early diagnosis and effective management.

Diabetes affects millions of people worldwide and can have a significant impact on health if left untreated. However, with the right support, many people can successfully manage their condition and reduce the risk of complications.

Cervical Screening Awareness

Cervical Screening Awareness  is an annual campaign designed to highlight the importance of smear tests. The national initiative encourages eligible people to attend their screenings to prevent cervical cancer

Loneliness Awareness

June is Loneliness Awareness Month, a campaign dedicated to raising awareness of loneliness, reducing stigma, and encouraging people to build meaningful connections within their communities.

Loneliness is a normal human emotion that can affect anyone at any stage of life. While many people experience loneliness from time to time, prolonged loneliness can have a significant impact on both physical and mental health.

Pride Month

June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate diversity, promote inclusion, and recognise the contributions of LGBTQ+ people in our communities.

At our practice, we are committed to providing safe, respectful, and inclusive healthcare for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

National PTSD Awareness

June is National PTSD Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), reducing stigma, and encouraging those affected to seek support.

PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. While many people recover naturally following trauma, some continue to experience symptoms that affect their daily lives, relationships, work, and wellbeing.
