Bowel Cancer

Being familiar with bowel cancer symptoms and knowing when to see a doctor is the primary focus of the campaign. Warning signs can include:
  • Bleeding from the bottom or blood in your poo.
  • Persistent and unexplained changes in your bowel habits (e.g., looser stools, pooping more frequently, or constipation).
  • Unexplained or unintentional weight loss.
  • Extreme, unexplained tiredness or fatigue.
  • A persistent pain or a lump in your tummy.
Experts estimate that more than half of all bowel cancer cases could be prevented through healthier lifestyle choices. You can lower your risk by:
  • Eating a balanced, high-fiber diet rich in fruits and vegetables.
  • Cutting down on red and processed meats.
  • Exercising regularly and maintaining a healthy weight.
  • Limiting alcohol consumption and stopping smoking.
